(July 8, 2009) Australians can now brainstorm with each other on ways to improve car insurance with the launch of a unique online community by The Buzz, a part of Insurance Australia Group (IAG).
In an industry first, the ‘community’ gives Australians a platform to canvas all facets of the insurance experience - from online service options, product features, information, through to customer loyalty programs. And suggest ways that it could be better.
Called the Buzz Exchange, the launch follows a successful pilot by IAG which attracted about 3,000 members Australia-wide who generated more than 1,000 ideas.
The Buzz CEO, Jacki Johnson, said the idea to launch the Buzz Exchange community came from a member of the pilot community.
“The origins of The Buzz business can be found in what consumers told us through our initial online community, My Insurance Ideas. It was an Australian first and helped us build a business that would truly resonate with consumers,” she said.
“We want to continue to co-create with people to improve the insurance experience. For example, people told us they wanted a fast internet experience so we developed the 60 second quick quote – the industry’s fastest quote. We also introduced Live Chat because people said they preferred it.”
The Buzz Exchange features a blog, quick poll, and an area where people can leave an idea and vote on other people’s ideas.
“Our brand and business has its roots in the community. It makes perfect sense that the future of our business is also embedded in the voice of the community and we’ll continue to evolve and change to meet their needs,” Ms Johnson said.
The Buzz Exchange launches with a competition where people can win a $500 shopping voucher simply by sharing their thoughts on how the community can best be developed.
