The US-based Kumho Tyre has introduced the world’s first fragranced car tyre.
Forget the smell of black rubber. The sweet aroma of lavender, orange or jasmine could soon be gracing our streets and highways. Oils are mixed with the raw rubber during manufacture and these, in turn, are released as the tyre heats up. The scent lasts for the life of the tyre.
Targeted at female drivers, the ECSTA DX tyre fits the Honda Accord, Toyota Camry, Subaru Outback, Chrysler Sebring and Ford Taurus.
We’re not sure when we’ll be seeing – sorry, smelling – them in Australia.
