The International Motor Show Geneva attracted around 735,000 car enthusiasts, all intrigued to know the latest and greatest car developments in a time that has now been hailed as at the end of the car-manufacturing crisis.
The event took place during the first two weeks of March and has been hailed as a complete success due the sheer amount of new models on display and the new technology available.
The President of the Motor Show said:“We were not targeting to beat all records for the number of visitors, but were rather committed to continuously improve the comfort levels and attractiveness of the Show for our visitors. However, it is reassuring that we can hand over to our successors a Motor Show that is particularly prosperous and promising for the future.”
The main highlights for car lovers were:
Porsche Panamera S Hybrid: The best value in the performance/luxury hybrid game at a $95,900 starting price.
Rolls-Royce experimental electric Phantom: Glided out elegantly in front of keen car and environmental enthusiasts.
Pagani Huayra: Controversial in design and style!
Mini Cooper: Announced new sporty diesel varieties based on the original model and the hatchback.
And one that got the Australian media’s heart racing a little was the announcement that BMW were unveiling their new baby roadster. However, BMW insiders have also suggested that the new baby roadster concept isn’t designed for production but rather to be a showcase of design elements planned for future models from the automaker… well, we’ll just hold our breath a little longer…
